The TaylorMade offers longer and more consistent distance in every iron with more distinct distance-gaps between long- and middle-irons. The long-, middle- and short-irons were separately engineered so you get long and forgiving long-irons, long and accurate middle-irons and accurate and responsive short-irons.
The Taylormade Company designers worked on the long irons, middle irons and short irons separately, but the set's calling cards go something like this:
- A thinner clubface, thinnest in the long irons (3-5) but not quite as thin in the middle irons (6-8), with the short irons a little thicker than both.
- Inverted Cone Technology in all.
- Larger clubhead sizes in the long and middle irons.
- Wider soles, but not quite as wide in the middle irons as in the long, nor in the short irons as in the middle.
- Thicker topline, but again, the long having the thickest.
- More offset in the long irons.

The 2009 Burner Irons 4-9PAS are as forgiving as I would like. These new Burner irons are nice.These clubs are long! I was hitting my 7 iron 200 yards on the range which is normally a 175 club.
If you can get over the fact that they are 10-year-old clubs, and they look huge at address, you will find these TaylorMade 2009 Burner Irons help to be a better player.
Great irons! I added 10 yards to each club. I played 6 rounds with them so far, went from averaging 104 to 98. I would recommend these clubs to anyone looking to lower there scores.
Can I get the Burner09 in Left Handed?
Very forgiving when you miss hit the ball and explosive when you hit it perfect.
The distance is the same, The feel is different - not as solid. Overall, I think these are a better club than the RACs if you want more control.

Beautiful clubs, punishes any mistakes. The main benefits of these clubs are namely for people who need them. Impact is butter smooth if on the sweet spot, but gives excess feedback on mis hits.
